C1 Level German Language Learning Syllabus (CEFR Framework)
The C1 level enables learners to use the German language fluently and effectively in academic, professional, and social settings. It emphasizes precision, nuance, and advanced comprehension.
1. Advanced Communication & Discussion Skills
- Expressing ideas fluently and spontaneously without much hesitation
- Participating in complex discussions and debates
- Presenting structured arguments and defending opinions
- Using idiomatic expressions and nuanced language
- Understanding implicit meanings and cultural references
2. Grammar Topics
- Advanced Verb Forms & Moods:
- Subjunctive I (Konjunktiv I) – Indirect speech: "Er sagte, er habe keine Zeit."
- Subjunctive II (Konjunktiv II) in hypothetical scenarios: "Wenn ich mehr Zeit hätte, würde ich eine neue Sprache lernen."
- Future Perfect (Futur II) for assumptions: "Er wird es bis morgen gemacht haben."
- Complex Sentence Structures:
- Relative clauses with wofür, wodurch, worüber
- Infinitive constructions with lassen, sein, haben (e.g., "Ich habe ihn singen hören.")
- Subordinate clauses with obwohl, indem, sodass, als ob
- Nominalization to create formal structures: "Das Erlernen der Sprache fällt mir leicht."
- Advanced Passive Voice & Causative Structures:
- Passive constructions in all tenses: "Das Problem wird gelöst werden."
- Alternative passive constructions: "Es lässt sich nicht vermeiden."
